About - heatherdalton

Hi there! My name is Heather Dalton, and I am a free-lance photographer. I'm based out of Houston but am frequently in Austin to do portraits there, as well, and I would love to travel to any location to capture your event.

I do photography part-time while I work as a professor of geology and astronomy at San Jacinto College. I've been interested in photography for most of my life and was always the one snapping pictures of my friends and family, but started seriously pursuing photography as an art in 2006. I love taking portraits and capturing special moments for people to enjoy for years to come, and traveling and bringing home spectacular photographs that reflect the beauty of the places I've been.

Sometimes getting the right angle for a photo means getting up close and personal with all kinds of different places. This was the last location for a senior portrait session in Austin. Photo by Terri King.

It's always fun to have help to get everyone smiling! Members of a wedding party danced around behind me during formal posed portraits of the bride's and groom's families. Photo by Derek Warnecke.
